Old Devil Moon - Christopher Fowler

August 2008

Old Devil Moon

This amalgam of dark and cautionary short tales, resides in a heart of fearful knowledge, that decries our more obstensible character from one of predicated dread. In this we are lead to examine a reality fragmented just enough from ours to makes it's dire miasma believable. There is a line between pure simplicity of horror and a greater depth of imagination that implies the existence of truth that this author walks. The more chilling aspects of human nature are examined herein, and through this we come to learn what it means to fear that which is a step away from what we call real. Glean the nuances of a world that just may take you into it's hidden maw when you least expect it, and the first page is cracked. Read this one, if you dare.
