In the Arabic language, the word Islam means "surrender" or "submission"—submission to the will of Allah. A follower of Islam is called a Muslim, which in Arabic means "one who surrenders to Allah." And surrender is what about 1 billion have done to the all powerful, all knowing, all blah blah blah, you get the picture; these people have been abused. Not just a little either, I mean a whole bunch of brain-washing went on when they were small children. Before I finish my next sentence, let me begin with a warning to all practicing Muslims who happen to be reading this: if you are not offended now you will be, this is a "heavy" critique of your particular religion. And of course I am the Atheist Rat and I will be talking shit about your particular faith. So please don’t work yourself up into a crazy frenzy all primitive and shit and terrorize me, I’m simply being honest. Which is one particular freedom I enjoy, free speech, from a democratic society that could have very easily been like most Middle Eastern countries where you’re forced to hide if you’re not a Muslim.

I have complete respect and admiration for the Arabic and Persian people (Iran) who migrated to the region from Central Asia beginning in the 7th century and established the first Persian empire in 550 B.C.E. Ooh, I’m sorry I trailed off into encyclopedia stuff there for a moment. I hope you learned something for a second. So let’s move on, where was I? Ooh, yeah... I was talking about Islam, the nice and peaceful religion (yeah right) that’s creating all sorts of havoc in our modern age which is basically what the problem is. You got a crazy-ass old religion trying to enforce its barbaric will in the age of technology and free shit off the net. And most of us Americans are too lazy to take our finger out of the Fritos bag long enough to actually listen to the programs on the Discovery Channel. So I doubt any of you have much clue about the plight of the Iranian citizens or the absolute crap a women has to go through in Saudi Arabia. So where did all this crazy dress code and strict no eat pork or drink alcohol, let alone weed, stuff begin?

Around the year 570 B.C.E. Muhammad, the founding prophet of Islam, was born in Mecca, at the time the central city of the Arabian Peninsula. Some 40 years later Muhammad started preaching a new religion, Islam, which at its core was a rehash of Christianity and Judaism. Muhammad was a genius basically, managing a business for a rich widow, his religious views became to take shape. And in my opinion, he concocted an ingenious plan that would instill in his own people a just moral code. From his travels ‘Islam’ was born, not as a religious vision but more a con to bring some sort of civilized life style to his corrupt people. I know some of you Muslims have kept reading and you’re starting to make bombs right now but please think about it, you don’t actually have to ‘see’ an angel to say you did, and come on, magic bird people, please! Islam began to teach the masses that there was one God (I wonder why?), and that Muhammad was the last in a series of prophets and messengers (Ooh, of course). Through his messengers God had sent various codes, or laws for living... you get the idea, a nice set-up. Throughout history this sort of "follow me" mentality is classic, it’s like crazy con-men evolved all over the earth in different cultures creating their own form of mass servitude. But of course ol’ Muhammad wasn’t without resistance (just about everybody except his closest relatives), so he ran away to Medina, you’ll began to notice the reasoning behind the Hajj (excuse me). Fast forward a few years and the Koran comes into the picture, a supposed tale about Muhammad’s life (Yeah right). Keep in mind that Muhammad, who was illiterate, did not write the Koran and there were huge squabbles until a 1924 Egyptian edition became the official text throughout the Islamic world. So even though Muslims claim their book is an uncorrupted version given to them by a deity, unlike the Bible, Torah etc...; it still reads like an illiterate barbarian wrote it. Especially with talk of a flat earth with seven heavens combined with a lot of kissing Allah’s ass, to me it’s no different than any of the other man-made religious texts.

One of the main reasons Islam has spread so fast is the brutal ritualistic brain washing techniques used. Continuous recitation of the Koran by children with little education and no knowledge of science, nor is a globe even used because the Koran says the Earth is flat. Look at the horrid social conditions of women, some of whom are stoned to death for even the slightest suggestion of adultery. Take Iran, which is made up of mostly young people, but abusive backward religious leaders prevent them from even going to a bar (no alcohol) or a restaurant to meet the opposite sex. I believe the Islam of today is heading for a great Reformation just as the Roman Church did to break itself free from the shackles of a barbaric past. But before any of the barriers can be crossed, freedom of thought, belief and separation of church and state must happen first. Oh wait, I see an Angel. He says his name is Ralph and everyone should send all their cash to me… Well it’s worth a try, this seemed to work for Jesus, Muhammad, Budda, Moses, etc...why not Atheist Rat as God... In Rat we Trust.
